Why LobsterAI
Most AI assistants stop at an answer. LobsterAI is built to finish the job.
- It works where your work lives. Point it at a folder and it reads spreadsheets, writes documents, runs scripts, and browses the web, asking before anything sensitive.
- You see the result, not just a reply. Web pages, charts, images, videos, PDFs, and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files open in a side panel, ready to edit or share.

Quick start
- Install LobsterAI. Download it from the official website, or get the latest release directly: macOS (Apple Silicon) · macOS (Intel) · Windows x64
- Choose a model. Sign in to use the built-in models, or add your own API key under Settings → Custom Model.
- Give it a task. Pick a working folder, describe what you want, and approve actions as it works. Generated files open in the side panel.
- Go further. Install kits from Kits · Skills · Connectors, set up recurring work in Scheduled Tasks, or connect a chat app under Settings → IM Bot.

- Cowork is LobsterAI's product layer. It owns sessions, messages, permissions, artifacts, agents, and IM bindings, and stores them locally in SQLite.
- OpenClaw is the agent runtime underneath. LobsterAI ships a pinned build, renders its config from app state, and translates its events into the Cowork stream.
- The renderer is sandboxed with context isolation and talks to the main process only through the preload IPC bridge.
Build from source
Requirements: Node.js >=24.15.0 <25, npm >=11.17.0 <12, git, and pnpm.

Security and privacy
- Sessions, messages, and settings are stored locally in
lobsterai.sqliteunder the app's user data directory. Agent memory and runtime state live alongside it underopenclaw/. - File operations, shell commands, and network access are permission-gated, and the agent asks before it acts.
- Renderer windows run with context isolation, sandboxing, and no Node.js integration.

快速上手
- 安装 LobsterAI。 从官网下载，或直接获取最新版本： macOS（Apple 芯片） · macOS（Intel 芯片） · Windows x64
- 选择模型。 登录后即可使用内置模型，也可以在 设置 → 自定义模型 中填入自己的 API Key。
- 布置任务。 选择工作目录，描述你想要的结果，并在执行过程中审批相关操作。生成的文件会在侧边栏打开。
- 更进一步。 在 套件·技能·连接器 中安装套件，在 定时任务 中设置周期任务，或在 设置 → IM 机器人 中绑定聊天应用。

- Cowork 是 LobsterAI 的产品层，负责会话、消息、权限、产物、Agent 和 IM 绑定，并把它们保存在本地 SQLite 中。
- OpenClaw 是底层的 Agent 运行时。LobsterAI 内置一个锁定版本，根据应用状态生成它的配置，并把它的事件转换成 Cowork 的消息流。
- 渲染进程启用了上下文隔离和沙箱，只能通过 preload IPC 桥与主进程通信。
从源码构建
环境要求：Node.js >=24.15.0 <25、npm >=11.17.0 <12、git 和 pnpm。

安全与隐私
- 会话、消息和设置保存在应用数据目录下的本地文件
lobsterai.sqlite中；Agent 记忆和运行时状态保存在同目录的openclaw/下。 - 文件操作、终端命令和网络访问都受权限控制，Agent 会先征求你的同意再执行。
- 渲染进程窗口启用上下文隔离和沙箱，并禁用 Node.js 集成。
